Biografia


Giovanni Tamagnone nasce ad Airasca, vicino a Torino, in Italia.

Fin da bambino disegna, colora, e frequenta lo studio di scultura del marito della sua maestra

Adolescente, disegna a matita e china, copiando i Maestri rinascimentali, specie Michelangelo , e

Nel 1975, a Parigi, l\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'incontro visivo con le opere degli Impressionisti e una grande mostra di
Picasso lo inducono a rompere gli indugi e ad occuparsi di arti visive in modo sistematico.

Decide di frequentare nel \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'77 e \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'78, all\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Accademia Albertina di Torino, il “Corso libero del nudo “
tenuto dal Prof. Filippo Scroppo, artista dalle molte frequentazioni parigine dei Maestri
dell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Avanguardia, da Picasso a Matisse; torna quindi a disegnare, studia e sperimenta i toni del
colore, dipinge, provando ad abbozzare dall\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'80 un\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'arte che superi, inglobandoli e mixandoli, gli

Alla fine del \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'79 si licenzia dalla Olivetti, e fa esperienze nel settore grafico-pubblicitario; si
interessa di decorazione e nello specifico produce per la Ceramica di Assisi grandi pannelli floreali
per il mercato tedesco.

Partecipa a collettive, premi, ecc. e viene selezionato da Nani Razetti per l\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'iniziativa dei Murales a

A Bari, l\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'intero stand viene acquistato da Tonino Colloca, mercante e critico d\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'arte che opera nella
zona di Roma. Ha inizio una attività di partecipazione ad iniziative in Centri culturali romani e a
manifestazioni a Catanzaro, Cosenza, Lamezia Terme, ecc. Per un paio d\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'anni vive esclusivamente
della produzione delle sue opere, regolarmente assorbite dal mercato.

Alla fine dell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'84, mostra personale alla Galleria \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Orsa Maggiore \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" di Ostia Lido, incentrata sui
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Paesaggi con struttura \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" , con intervento critico di Tonino Colloca, che sponsorizza un suo “ “
inserimento nel Catalogo Arte Mondadori del 1985.

Una profonda criticità circa il ruolo dell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'artista lo porta, verso la fine dell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'85, ad entrare in un
periodo di silenzio produttivo; un periodo di inquietudine, tra il rifiuto dell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'arte visiva così come
l\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'aveva percepita nella stagione romana e il bisogno interiore ineliminabile di esprimersi

Riprende a lavorare dalla metà del \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'99, e una curatrice di eventi artistici gli organizza, ad Agosto
2000, una retrospettiva 1980-2000 a Bardonecchia ( To ), con patrocinio di Regione Piemonte,
Provincia di Torino e Comune ospitante, con sponsor, ecc, con interventi critici e resoconti sulla
stampa locale e anche nazionale ( Olga Gambari su Repubblica ).

Nei primi anni del nuovo secolo, Tamagnone si esprime in piccole serie di opere che gli
permettono di sperimentare materiali e assetti estetico-formali che si distaccano fortemente dal
precedente periodo degli anni \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'80, ( Sito Web – Galleria “ 2000 – 2005 “ ) fino a che, verso la fine
del 2005, prende forma la struttura compositiva dei Bianco/Nero e rosa mediatico , nei quali “ “
l\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'artista si costringe ad esprimersi usando solo il bianco, il nero e una gamma ristretta di rossi, che,
schiariti, originano i “ Rosa mediatico “, che l\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'artista fa assurgere a simboli della realtà virtuale che
comprime e soffoca il concreto, relegato a piccole porzioni di consapevolezza, rappresentate in

A Febbraio 2007 viene stampato “ ARTAM-TAM “, volume di 90 pagine che percorre
sinteticamente le tappe della vita artistica di Giovanni Tamagnone dagli esordi. Una versione

Sempre nel 2007, nell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ambito delle manifestazioni per il cinquantenario replica rolex della morte di Arturo
Toscanini, a Verbania, una importante associazione culturale locale organizza a Tamagnone una
mostra personale, interamente dedicata ai dipinti della serie \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" B/N e rosa mediatico \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", la cui

Concepiti teoricamente già dal 2000, i “ Frammenti/Matrice “ cominciano a dispiegarsi

in modo autonomo, quasi delle slides volutamente generiche, senza gerarchie compositive, quasi

quotidianità. Gli ultimi, del 2011, sono il riflesso di quotidianità collettive dirompenti e inquietanti,
abbandonano la genericità e diventano testimonianze.

Quando i Frammenti/Matrice virano nell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ultima versione, quella dei “ verticorizzontali “, diventano
composizioni che prendono posizione, quasi un voler puntualizzare su temi che scuotono le
coscienze ( migranti, scontro politico, espressione artistica, Unità d\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Italia, mare che muore ). ( Sito

Il breve passaggio dei “ Quasimonocromi “ è rottura, dichiarazione di libertà artistica e di

Così, Giovanni Tamagnone giunge alle attuali produzioni, la serie dei provocatori “ Liberi tutti! “,
sempre però con una poetica ove, come efficacemente ha puntualizzato il Prof. Paolo Levi,
“... quello che conta non è la definizione stilistica, bensì la scelta del linguaggio... “ , quel
linguaggio che nell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'attimo produttivo Tamagnone fa suo “ … catturando ogni vibrazione di un

Nel 2009 viene selezionato tra i partecipanti al \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Premio Arte 2009 \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" e viene inserito nella pubblicazione 
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Nuova Arte \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", edita dall\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori e curata dal prof. Paolo Levi. A Marzo 2011, Tamagnone partecipa alla prima edizione di Artistinmostra, a Parma,  con
esposizione cronologica dei lavori che vanno dai Rosa mediatici ai Frammenti/Matrice , con “ ” “ “
contributi critici del Prof. Massimo Olivetti e del Dott. Giuseppe Possa.
Da questa partecipazione si sviluppano per Tamagnone una serie di selezioni, inviti e
partecipazioni:

Mondadori del 2011.

* Partecipa alla Manifestazione Artisti Europei a Cremona , ai primi di Giugno 2011, come “ “
artista selezionato e invitato.

* Finalista al Premio SCAMOZZI 2011, organizzato da Federcritici di Vicenza.

* Partecipa, come artista selezionato e invitato, alla Sezione Under 5000 della Fiera d\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Arte di “ “
Padova a Novembre 2011, con uno stand dedicato.

* Fa parte dell\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' iniziativa editoriale \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Creazioni \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" , curata dal Prof. Paolo Levi, che ha selezionato gli “ “
artisti, ne ha tracciato il profilo critico e li ha portati in collettiva a Parigi a Natale 2011.

* Inizia una collaborazione con la Galleria Emmediarte di Milano, con la quale espone nella prima

* Ottobre 2012; partecipa alla collettiva Italia Arte, nello spazio museale Raiko Alexiev del
Ministero della Cultura bulgaro a Sofia, organizzata da MIT ( Museo Italia Arte ) di Torino e
dall\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Sofia.

* Nella seconda metà di Gennaio 2013 partecipa, selezionato e invitato, alla collettiva NCC  “ –

Giovanni Tamagnone was born in Airasca , near Turin , Italy.

Since childhood, designs, colors , and attended the sculpture studio of her husband\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s elementary school teacher .

In March 2011 , Tamagnone part in the first edition of ArtistInMostra , in Parma, with a chronological exhibition of works ranging from “ media pink “ to “ Fragments / Matrix “, with critical contributions of Prof. Massimo Olivetti and Dr. Giuseppe Possa .

From this participation Tamagnone to develop a series of selections , invitations and investments:

* It is part of publishing initiative “ CREAZIONI “, edited by Prof. Paolo Levi , who selected the artists, has traced the critical profile and brought them into the collective in Paris at Christmas 2011.

* At the beginning of 2012 accepts the invitation of the Satura Gallery of Genoa and participate in their booth at Artefiera Genoa 2012 in late February and has exhibited , through them, in the Art Festival 2012 Shanghai in the second half of July.
